i'm back!!
and i just found out that my sister didnt meet jolene! woo!
okie. lol. shees.. so much for planning huh!
vietnam's like super amazing country, most amazingly pretty girls! REALLY REALLY pretty!
really really really.. now i know why alot of old ah pek cannot find wife here then go there find! cuz they're like pretty, cutural and they're very caring! really.. like.. wow! haha. i don think i wanna get a vietnamese wife though.. its really hard to communicate! and the language is like super hard to learn! lol.
okie! some vietnamese phrases/word i learnt:
(its just how to pronounce it. i dunno how to spell! lol...)
ji-eh er-oei - calling a woman who's older than you
ahn er-oei - calling a guy who's older than you
am er-oei - calling anyone younger than you (what guys use to call girls they think is pretty even though the girl looks older. the guys wanna presume she's younger! lol.)
cow-um gor now - no brains. lol.
cow-um gor chee - not at all ( like when people say thank you, you'll say that!)
gum en - thank you
see gum en - greatly thank you
bique en - GREATLY-ER thank you (never used it before. cuz its like when people save you from the death kinda thing! lol)
doe dao bah dao - your brain's like tofu (saying that person dumb)
nu ni-yea con tep - your brain's like the prawn's brain (cuz prawn's shit goes to their head. haha. vietnamese have a weird way of saying others. its supposed to be polite in a way!)
deng lor lang, mor bique say uom - don worry, everything will be fine! ( i think its like that.. lol.. its too long and i seldom use!)
mob, hai, part - one, two, three
yea-tung - cute, easily loved
ji-eh yea tung - cute sister! (lol, my friend ask me to call this air stewardess, i didnt know what it was at first! lol. i doubt that she'll understand me anyway! haha. oh, and its supposed to be cute not like horny and desperate! haha.)
vi shao - star/why (two meanings)
am la vi shao - you are my star! (used for like couples, like lovey dovey kinda thing!)
di - go
ya di dao dai - where are we going next
cow-um - no
cafe - coffee
sur - milk
da - ice
cha - tea
i think thats all i know! haha. some are not very useful but all those got me thru these few days! lol.
vietnam has alot alot of good food man! like super good and quite cheap compared to singapore! there's this beef noodles called fer, its like so good man! near my friends house. its like 1 dollar singapore. and there's this pancake thing called bahn koht or something like that! super cool. its like rice flour cake thingy with prawn on top! vietnamese love fish sauce! they have it for every meal!
okie, i think its gonna be like super alot of words if i wrote down my experience. so i'm gonna put in point form and hopefully you'll get to the end! lol.
- THERE ARE ALOT OF MOTORCYLCES!!! like.. ALOT ALOT. never seen so much before! really.. lol.
- they don have to wear helmet. only like some regions
- they drive really closely. like you can bump shoulders with the other motorcylist
- they love to horn and to high beam! its not rude there! in fact its a norm. like when you wanna overtake someone, you gotta horn before you pass. and they have like code among all the vietnamese drivers. like if they flash flash (high beam) to the opposing traffic, they're asking if there're traffic police in front! then the other person will like shake their hand or nod! SO COOL RIGHT! lol. and when they over take the car infront, the car infront would actaully slow down so that we can pass! they're really nice! haha. but its weird. you'd never see that in singapore! haha. oh! and about overtaking! you can go to the opposing lane to overtake the car infront of you. the opposing traffic would slow down for you to overtake! SO NICE OF THEM RIGHT! and they wont do it like grudgingly. like. they feel that it will make the traffic faster! which is true!!!!! even with the large amount of motors and cars and the usual 2 lane roads, people still move! i think this is one of the cooler point of vietnam!
- the karaoke its like freaking cheap! like. S$4 per hour is considered expensive. and you don have to buy drinks!
- cigarettes are like cheap as well! like S$1.40 for one pack! lol. its like S$11 over here.
- alot alot of pretty girls!
- super good scenery! like at sapa and dalat! (mel, the place super nice one its call ha long bay, i think! but i didnt go there! didnt have time! did you tell me there's this place where the sun never sets? my friend says there's no such place. lol. she say even in north pole the sun sets every six months and never come out for the next six months. haha)
- very emotional history! really.. but i really can feel the people there really really loving their country! really really loving it. not like singaporeans. really! haha.
- generous people!
- the small villagers there as in the minority people, even though the children don have proper education they can speak fluent english, french, german, hebrew, italian! they learnt it from the tourist! SO COOL! really. at the age of like 7 to old. but they cant really speak proper vietnamese, says my friend. haha. i dunno why! don ask me!
- i like the long walks along the valleys and rivers and village and the winding mountain dirt road and cooling weather and beautiful kids!
- they have very little fat people there! cuz they like eat ALOT of vegetable! no one would ever no how much until you get there! and its free you know. like you order a bowl of fer and the give you 1 big basket of different vegetables! haha..
- my flight from hanoi to ho chi minh was delayed for 8 hours. no compensation. people arguing loudly. but it was fun to see the animosity. haha.
- the traditional costume of vietnam is like pretty! really pretty!
- most of the air stewardess look pretty!
- almost everyone wakes up at like 5am to 7am. lol. it gets really noisy even at 7am. like all the kids playing and stuff like that. motor horns. *honk honk honk*
- people very sensitive to the word 'dick' and 'fuck' in vietnamese. dick in vietnamese is pronounced like kuck. and fuck is like dou. there's this place in hanoi, where the holy turtle of vietnam dwells. like comes up like a few times a year only and there're more than one! so apparently one died. and they preserved it. and they place this triangular thingy beside it. so the tour guide when "its sexual organ." so i went like "ah.. the turtle's kuck?" (innocently! if i may plead.) ya. then his face like changed to a awkward looking like dunno how to answer me face. lol! and he's a grown man with kids! its like DICK. dick dickdick. *gasp in utter disgust* lol. i don really use the word 'dick' but its just weird. so weird i had to say it. *dick dick dick*
- vietnamese most in very very good shape. like hour glass figure is the norm for girls. really really. never bluff you.
- they don have mcdonalds! lol. they have KFC, jollibee and lotteria. thats for fast food.
- they have this sandwich thing, with meat and all sort of stuff inside and its called bah kut teh! at least they pronounce it that way! haha.. cool right. its the first dish that we knew how to order cuz of the name! and its really good. later i'll post one of the photo got the bah kut teh seller and the bah kut teh itself!
- i dunno what its called! but there's this traditional dish. it is actually duck egg with the duckling inside! gross huh! we recorded the vids of us eating the duck eggs!
- we have booze everynight. cuz its so cheap! like cocktails for like S$2 to S$3! and we bought a bottle of peach vodka there as well from DFS.
- i didnt bring enough money! i really didnt expect it to be so expensive. so i didnt buy much gifts. really sorry to those who were expecting some. and i bought the gifts cuz i saw it was suitable for the person. i didnt really buy much for myself anyway! so don complain. lol.
okie! i think thats about it. maybe i forgot to write some down or what. i'll update later with the pictures! but i think the pictures would have to wait awhile for my friend to pass me the memory card! haha.
to jolene: i found one rather handsome prince. but hes like dead. lol.
