today i went to my hotels dialogue,
i feel so grown up!
like facing reality and facing the problems which adults face and also relating to them! its so cool(i know i sound like a kid)!
haha. they talked about pay pay pay pay bonus bonus bonus bad canteen food bad canteen food maternity leave unpaid blah blah.
i remember how my teacher(i forgot which one) told me to do this job with the passion. use passion as your drive to excel. then i was thinking. obviously not many people working in the hotel's driven with the passion or the flare.
ahh. you see. when you're grown up, no matter how much passion or how much you love love love your job, money still does matters! the ability to put food on the dinner table is now your first priority. its no longer whether you love your job or not.
thats why i told myself to enjoy this remaining time i have at interns.
just the other day, there's this staff committee meeting, about staff welfare and other stuff. staff activities etc.
no one from the front office wanted to go up cuz they were all had more important things to go about. lol. so the chief concierge ask me to go up so i'd gain more exposure.
at first i was like yay!
then when i was about to go into the meeting room,
i was like shit.
lol.
so i knocked the door, then announced that i was representing the front office dept.
they all looked at me like "who's this guy?!" LOL.
then i went "hi, my name's jonathan i'm a trainee."
you can see how humiliated they looked!
if i were one of the managers sitting there, i'd be thinking
"okaaaayy, front office send a trainee........ thats so blatant. they think this meeting isnt important! f them."
LOL. anyway.
i just sat there and listen until they ask me for my young man's opinion!
cuz they 're all old old people
like 30 to 50
LOL.
the beginning really felt awkward but then as it progressed it got better!
okay. last night i had one of the weirdest dreams.
me and a friend( one i didnt really like) were squatting along my school's corridor.
then my GM of the hotel came about. he was this really stern looking man. rather uptight and cant crack a proper joke kinda guy.
so he was walking pass, and then his handphone rang..........
to the tune of "crank that"(R&B song).
lol. what the hell. its so funny la!
i remembered someone told me that what you dream of is actually what you most desire.
wth. why would i want my gm's phone to be ringing to the tune of crank that soulja boy! LOL.
okay, if someone told you "if you and someone else are the only two guys around, i'd choose you!"
would you feel happy or sad. LOL. happy cuz you got chosen. sad cuz only when there are ONLY you and the other guy left, THEN you'll get chosen.
my friends told me that. i really hope they meant it as a compliment. LOL.
